2003 Merlot

After a remarkable response to our 2002 Napa Valley Merlot, we follow up with this plush, fruit-driven beauty!

The 2003 Merlot offers bright fruit aromas of raspberry and cherry with notes of caramelized wood and brown spices. On the palate, expect generous briar fruit and black cherry with hints of spice, mocha and vanilla as smooth, subtle tannins round out the mid palate, leading to a long, lingering finish. While immediately approachable, this wine has the structure to age well over the next 3 to 5 years.

2002 Zinfandel

The 2002 is aged in French cooperage for a period of 20 months using 60% new oak. 2000 cases were produced. It displays an array of complex aromas of fruit, oak and terroir.

Initially, the wine displays sweet fruit aromas of cassis, plum, and blackberry. However, as the aromas linger, I discover subtle notes of nutmeg, vanilla, toasted pecans and chocolate express themselves beautifully. The flavors are full-bodied and lush, with the round, rich tannin structure that reflects its mountain-grown origins. This wine is drinking beautifully right now, but for those who prefer to defer their gratification, the 2002 will continue to evolve in complexity and character over the next 3-10 years.

2002 Hills Pinot Noir

Be among the very first to experience the first release of our most luxurious Hills Pinot Noir!
This very special blend from the northern side of our Hills vineyard produces a dense wine with concentrated fruit and exceptional balance. The wine’s saturated purple color leads to aromas of blackberry jam, tobacco, spice and smoke.

Anticipate complex flavors of creme de cassis and blackberry pie underscored by hints of tea leaves, black licorice, leather, and spice. Powerful structure, gorgeous opulence and a sumptuous mouthfeel finish with a lingering echo of well-balanced tannins.

2004 Pinot Noir

The 2003 Pinot Noir boasts a saturated ruby/purple color in addition to a sumptuous nose of graphite, blackberries, crème de cassis, cedar, and subtle toasty oak...this long, rich, impressively endowed, stunning Cabernet will be even better with 2-3 years of bottle age, and should age for two decades.

2002 Sauvignon Blanc

A balanced Sauvignon Blanc that was really true to the varietal’s essence, yet also unmistakably Californian. When you pick up the glass you notice a bright silver lime color and wonderful citrus, fig and vanilla aromas. This wine is a perfect example of a signature reductive style of employing less oak to preserve the brightness and zest. It’s the kind of wine you find yourself going back to, again and again, for another delicious and refreshing taste.

2001 Ranch Sauvignon Blanc

This Napa Valley Sauvignon Blanc has bright acidity and fruitiness, with wonderful grapefruit, guava and honeydew melon aromas that lead into citrus and melon flavors. It is unmistakably a Sauvignon Blanc, yet is quintessentially Californian in its sunshine-drenched fruit-forward style. Sauvignon Blanc is an extremely versatile wine that is very food-friendly. The list of seasonal farmers’ market finds that would taste great with this wine is endless. I love to pair it with dishes that showcase the bright fruit flavors and acidity of the varietal, like zucchini frittata, salmon with dill and goat cheese bruschetta.

2003 Chardonnay

California’s Central Coast possesses a climate closely resembling the Burgundy region of France, with coastal breezes and other maritime influences that encourage grapes to ripen slowly and evenly. This ideal climate produces wines of magnificent varietal character and fruit-forward intensity. This fully integrated wine delivers the brightest and most sought-after characteristics of a great Chardonnay. Tropical aromas and flavors with hints of green apples and juicy pears delight the palate while balanced acidity and hints of oak deliver a smooth, satisfying finish.

2002 White Zinfandel

The pretty white floral nose on the 2002 White Zinfandel is complimented by layers of fruit, including loquat and citrus, drawing you back again and again for another sip” boasts our winemaker Laurie Hook. Made in an exotic style, this Zin has impressive intensity, with creamy texture.
